Schools -  As part of the renowned San Ramon Valley School District, Windemere includes four district schools and the San Ramon Valley campus of Diablo Valley College - all right here.  Hidden Hill Elementary and Windemere Ranch School are up and running; the state-of-the art Dougherty Valley High and Live Oak Elementary are slated to open this fall.  W indemere is part of the highly regarded San Ramon Valley Unified School District and students from the district consistenly rank in the top 10 percent on standardized tests and the SATs.  In addition, schools in the district have won the National Blue Ribbon Award or State Distinguised School distinctions 28 times over the past decade.

Recreation - Windemere has dedicated 55% of the community total acreage to open space, natural preserves, miles of trails and the most extensive park system in the region.   Bellingham Square is one of the many parks in Windemere and is complete with a sand volleyball court, group picnic area, a tot lot and gazebo area and horseshoe pit.  East Branch Park features a basketball court, a baseball diamond and a soccer field.  Alamo Creek Park includes a soccer field, a tournament bocce facility, a tennis court and a climbing rock. Windemere has 1,163 acres of trails that wind through surrounding neighborhoods.

1 Multi-Use Community Center -  The newly opened 28,500 square foot Windemere Community Center features a performing arts theatre, dance studio, teen center, art room with kiln, and police substation.  After-school programs and activities include classes and community events galore.

1 Library - The 11,600 square foot Dougherty Station Library, which opened in 2005, has dedicated areas for many age levels including young children, teens, college students and adult readers.  The neighborhood library features 44 public computer workstations including five wireless points, collections that support curricula for kindergarten through high school, recreational reading materials for all ages and popular reading materials.  The magazine collection focuses on such topics as gardening, home decorating, travel, health and insurance.

Approximately 18 parks have been planned for Windemere and are scheduled to be completed as each phase is completed.  There will be over 90 acres of paths, playing fields, basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, tot lots, gazebos and more.  Bellingham Square Park, East Branch Park and Souyen Park are already completed- Souyen park features tennis courts, bocce courts, a climbing rock, picnic areas and grassy play areas.
